End User Licence Agreement
The licence under which you may install and play RecursionSplash games.

1. Licence grant
RecursionSplash — an independent game studio operated by a sole proprietor based in Ontario, Canada — grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play our games for your own private, non-commercial entertainment.
This licence is granted alongside — not instead of — Valve's Steam Subscriber Agreement, which also applies to any copy obtained through Steam. Where this agreement and Valve's conflict for a copy obtained through Steam, Valve's terms govern your relationship with Valve, and this agreement governs your licence to our software.
2. What you may not do
You may not:
- Sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the software;
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction;
- Modify the software or create derivative works from it for distribution to others;
- Use cheats, trainers, bots, memory editors or automation tools against our online services;
- Circumvent, disable or interfere with any security, anti-cheat or entitlement mechanism;
- Host, emulate or operate an unauthorised server for our games;
- Extract and reuse our assets (art, music, code, text) in your own projects.
3. Content creation
Recording and streaming our games — including monetised video — is expressly permitted, and nothing in section 2 is intended to restrict it. Capturing footage, taking screenshots and using our published screenshots and key art in your videos and articles is fine, and you do not need to ask us first.
What we ask: do not claim you made the game, and do not republish our assets as standalone work of your own.
4. Ownership
The software is licensed, not sold. RecursionSplash and its licensors retain all right, title and interest in the games. Some components are used under licence from their own authors — including third-party engine, library and font components, and asset elements produced with the help of generative AI tools and then reviewed and integrated by us. Your licence to the game does not grant you rights to those components separately.
5. Virtual items
Virtual items and currencies are covered by section 4 of our Terms of Service. In short: they are a revocable licence to use a feature, not property, and hold no monetary value.
6. Updates
We may issue patches, updates and content changes automatically through Steam. Some updates are required in order to keep using online features.
7. Termination
This licence terminates automatically if you breach it. On termination you must stop using the software and remove it from your devices. Sections 2, 4, 8 and 9 survive termination.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RecursionSplash is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
11. If part of this agreement fails
If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, that part is removed and the rest continues to apply.
